Turning Point Craft Initiative (TPCI) is a Shetland based charity which was set up in 2002. We exist to reduce the harm caused by problem alcohol and drug use. We provide a client-focused community service, supporting people to achieve positive change and freedom from the harmful effects of alcohol and drugs.

Our Day Centre provides free places to anyone seeking to overcome their alcohol or drug problem. We offer a programme that has  proven to work in helping people address alcohol or drug misuse.

You don’t need an appointment. Depending on your requirements we can provide counselling and a programme to suit your needs.

Turning Point Craft Initiative is an independent service.

We run a Day Centre providing a therapeutic healing programme, where clients learn basic woodturning skills, gain motivation, confidence and re-build their lives.

The Great Remover

Alcohol is a product of amazing versatility,
It will remove the stains from designer clothes,
It will also remove the clothes off your back,
If by chance it is used in sufficient quantity,
Alcohol will remove furniture from the home,
Rugs from the floor, food from the table,
Lining from the stomach, vision from the eyes,
And judgment from the mind.
Alcohol will also remove good reputations,
Good jobs, good friends, happiness from children's hearts,
Sanity, freedom, spouses, relationships,
And man's ability to adjust and live with his fellow man,
And even life itself.
As a remover, alcohol has no equal.
